Mental Health and Justice Commission
From November 2019 to February 2023 I was commissioned to work with researchers at Kings College who were designing advance directives, a type of living will which allows you to make decisions about your treatment in advance of becoming unwell. The project is informed by a series of workshops, co-creating found object sculptures with people who have experience of bipolar and encouraging discussion. My research was featured in the Lancet alongside the Kings College research.
I developed a new body of work for this project, some of which is exhibited at Bethlem Gallery in Art and Justice, a research exhibition (September - November 2021). Ulysses Pact was shown at Manchester Contemporary in November 2021. See also Future Selves for details of the exhibition at the Ortus.
You can listen to an interview about the project here. Please visit my blog for more details of the project.
Part of Mental Health and Justice, a research initiative led by Bethlem Gallery in collaboration with Kings College and funded by Wellcome.
